Mr. Krishnan has served in the following capacities: as the Senior Managing Director of Third Security, LLC, a venture capital firm; Chief Financial Officer, Chief Operating Officer and board member of New River Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ:NRPH); President and CEO of Harvest Pharmaceuticals Inc. and as a board member of Biotie Therapies (OMX Helsinki: BTH1V). Prior, Mr. Krishnan held positions with Ariba, Inc. A.T. Kearney, Inc., KPMG Peat Marwick and with E.I. Dupont de Nemours.
Mr. Krishnan received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), a M.S. in Engineering from the University of Toledo, and an M.B.A. from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. |

Suma Krishnan served as Vice President, Product Development of New River Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ:NRPH) between September 2002 and April 2007. Mrs. Krishnan has 14 years experience in drug development. Prior to joining the Company, Mrs. Krishnan served in the following capacities: Director, Regulatory Affairs at Shire Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a specialty pharmaceutical company; Senior Project Manager at Pfizer, Inc., a multi-national pharmaceutical company; and a consultant at the Weinberg Group, a pharmaceutical and environmental consulting firm. Mrs. Krishnan has a Masters in Chemistry from Villanova University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Ferguson College, Pune and an MBA from the Institute of Management, Development and Research, Pune. |
| Randal J. Kirk Chairman, Board of Directors
Randal J. Kirk is Senior Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Third Security, LLC, an investment management firm founded by Mr. Kirk, since March 1999. Additionally, Mr. Kirk founded and became Chairman of the Board of New River Pharmaceuticals Inc. (previously traded on Nasdaq prior to its acquisition by Shire plc in 2007) in 1996, and was President and Chief Executive Officer between October 2001 and April 2007. Mr. Kirk began his professional career in the private practice of law. Previously, Mr. Kirk served as a member of the Board of Directors of Scios, Inc. (previously traded on Nasdaq prior to its acquisition by Johnson & Johnson) between February 2000 and May 2002. Mr. Kirk also currently serves in a number of additional capacities, including as a member of the Board of Directors of Halozyme Therapeutics, Inc. (Nasdaq: HALO) since May 2007; and as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Intrexon Corporation since February 2008. Mr. Kirk has served on the Board of Visitors of Radford University since July 2003, was elected Rector of the Board in September 2006, and has served on the Board of Directors of the Radford University Foundation, Inc. since September 1998. He was appointed to the Virginia Advisory Council on Revenue Estimates in July 2006, and was appointed as a member of the Board of Directors of the Virginia University Research Partnership in July 2007. Mr. Kirk received a B.A. in Business from Radford University and a J.D. from the University of Virginia. |

Mr. Fisher works closely with Third Security’s private equity funds, and the funds' public and private portfolio companies, including Pinnacle Pharmaceuticals, Inc. In addition to his work at Third Security and Pinnacle, Mr. Fisher serves in the following capacities: Vice President, Secretary and Director of Vital Diagnostics Holding Corp., a provider of clinical diagnostics products and services, Chief Legal Officer and Secretary of New River Funds, a family of no-load mutual funds, Director of IntelliMat, Inc., a digital media company, Secretary and Manager of Biological & Popular Culture LLC, an enterprise software company, and member of the Advisory Board of NewVa Capital Partners, LP, a private equity fund focused on the NewVa region of southwestern Virginia. Previously, Mr. Fisher was an Associate on the Global Capital Markets and Mergers and Acquisitions Team at Hunton & Williams LLP in Richmond, Virginia. He received his B.A. from the University of Virginia and his J.D. from the William & Mary School of Law. |
